FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Wednesday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 2,592 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 2,592 new cases brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 369,519.

"That is about 100 cases more than this time last week, but significantly less than the two weeks before," Gov. Beshear noted. "We hope that this will be the first time, by the end of this week, that we have had four straight weeks of declining cases."

Gov. Beshear also announced 51 new coronavirus-related deaths, seven of which are Kentuckians that are 60 or younger, bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 3,863.

As of Wednesday, 1,340 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 368 of which are in the ICU and 171 of which are on ventilators. At least 44,073 Kentuckians have recovered from COVID-19.
