2,946 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Kentucky on Tuesday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Tuesday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 2,946 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 2,946 new cases of COVID-19 brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 227,818.

"Today's report, while again higher than we ever want it to be, is lower than last week's Tuesday and significantly lower than the Tuesday before when we had over 4,000 cases," Gov. Beshear noted.

Tuesday's postivity rate was 8.53%.

Gov. Beshear also announced 15 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 2,239.

As of Tuesday, 1,788 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 438 of which are in the ICU and 246 of which are on a ventilator.
