FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — On Friday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 3,614 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 3,614 new cases brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 194,193.

“These vaccines are right around the corner. Within the next 10 days or so we might be giving out the first vaccines,” said Gov. Beshear. “That means every loss of life and every extra infection that happens between now and then is entirely avoidable. So let’s fight harder than we ever have and do our part as Team Kentucky.”

Gov. Beshear also announced 25 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 2,039.

As of Friday, 1,792 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 409 of which are in the ICU and 230 of which are on a ventilator.
