FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Wednesday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that there are 546 new cases of COVID-19 in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, this brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 32,741. The 546 new cases is a slight decrease from Tuesday's 700 new cases.

"It is hard to believe that that can be good news," Gov. Beshear said of the 546 new cases. "And it is not in so many ways, it is 546 Kentuckians dealing with this virus. But the trajectory that we were going on was terrifying."

Of the 546 Kentuckians to test positive, 21 are under the age of five, one of which is just 18 days old.

Gov. Beshear also announced one new coronavirus-related death, a 71-year-old woman from Logan County. This brings Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 752.
