FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Thursday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 628 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 628 new cases brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 439,551.

"Right now, we are just a little bit under last week. Dr. Stack will tell you he sees us at a plateau at the moment," Gov. Beshear said. "We'd rather be decreasing, but a plateau is better than starting to see a fourth wave."

Thursday's positivity rate is 3.36%.

Gov. Beshear also announced five new coronavirus-related deaths, along with an additional three deaths from an audit, bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 6,381.

As of Thursday, 440 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 121 of which are in the ICU and 55 of which are on a ventilator.
