FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Governor Beshear has reported 643 new cases of COVID-19 along with three new deaths.

The governor says there have now been 80,930 cases in the state of Kentucky since the pandemic began. The state's positivity rate is 4.37%.

The three new deaths include a 79-year-old from Boyd County, a 67-year-old from Fayette County, and a 61-year-old from Grayson County.

672 Kentuckians are currently in the hospital battling COVID-19, 180 of them are in the ICU, and 93 are on a ventilator.

94 of the newest cases include those under the age of 18.

The governor says this is the largest number of new COVID-19 cases on a Monday as many labs across the state do not test on Sundays.
