(LEX 18) — Governor Andy Beshear's daily COVID-19 news conferences have become part of most Kentuckian's daily agenda. Each day, he asks that Kentuckians say two phrases with him, "We will get through this," and "We will get through this together."
People all across the Commonwealth are taking note, and during this difficult time, giving us a reason to smile, by creating memes and posting on social media. When the COVID-19 outbreak began in Kentucky, Governor Beshear asked Kentuckians to post "good news" on social media using the hashtags: #TeamKentucky, #TogetherKy, #HealthyatHome and #Patriot.
On March 23, Governor Beshear announced the #TeamKentucky fund. The Governor says the Team Kentucky Fund is designed to provide assistance to Kentuckians who have been laid off or severely financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Donations are tax deductible and can be made online.
Now, some of Governor Beshear's most popular quotes are on some swag, with proceeds going to the #TeamKentucky fund. The Citizen Team KY Fundraiser has t-shirts, mugs, onesies and stickers available for purchase.
