FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Thousands of Kentuckians have filed for unemployment since March, yet many still haven't received the financial assistance they need.

But Governor Andy Beshear says next week that's going to change.

"If you applied in March, you ought to hear from somebody this next week. And we ought to get your claim resolved. If you applied in march you have waited far too long and it is not right," said Governor Beshear.

But others are still upset with the shutdown, with some protesting again on Saturday outside the Capitol demanding businesses open back up.

That process is starting slowly, with some health care facilities reopening on Monday.

"We're better opening in an area that is used to dealing with viruses and with contagion and making sure how they are doing it, and the PPE is there. And it can be done the right way, and it doesn't look the same as before. until we get a vaccine our world is going to look very different," said Beshear.
