(LEX 18) — The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is waiting to release new documents on safely reopening schools.

The CDC was supposed to release more reference documents by the end of the week, but a spokesperson says the information is not ready.

The new information will focus on how to reopen schools safely this fall.

This, after President Donald Trump reportedly complained about the agency's current guidance.

The spokesperson says the information will likely be available by the end of the month, but he doesn't have a "clear picture at this point."

The New York Times reported last week an internal CDC document called reopening schools the "highest risk" for the spread of coronavirus.
