Churchill Downs receives approval to reopen stable areas May 11th

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — It was announced Thursday that Churchill Downs has received approval from Kentucky state officials to reopen stable areas on May 11.

Churchill Downs officials say that details about the opening day of the 2020 Spring Meet with spectator-free racing will be released in the coming days.

Wednesday, Governor Andy Beshear laid out the dates and plan to reopen different industries. It was announced that horse racing could reopen on May 11 with no fans.
