PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Pulaksi County man passed away from the coronavirus last week. The victim's son took to social media, sharing their family's experience while asking for people to take the illness seriously.
Dustin Pittman says his father, David, went in to the hospital with mild pneumonia in one lung. "to deadly, severe pneumonia in both lungs. In a week's time, just gradually down hill and then all of the sudden on life support."
David was tested for the coronavirus, but the positive test result didn't come back until after he passed.
Devastated, Dustin took to social media to share his family's story. The video, has since gone viral, with thousands of shares and comments.
"I just wanted to share with my friends and family, you know, hey, be safer about things. Use a little wisdom and knowledge when it comes to being safe and realize that you could be healthy, or think you are, and not have it and not show any signs of it."
Dustin says many people have reached out to him, thanking him for posting the video.
"I think dad would be real happy that he could help somebody out after he's already passed, if he could help one person that would make him happy."
The Pittman family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
