LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — With the Kentucky Derby postponed until September 5, due to the coronavirus outbreak, organizers are using the change to raise money for charity.
Kentucky Derby merchandise went on sale at the Derby Museum in Louisville Wednesday.
The problem is, they have the date of May 2 on them, the original day the 146th Derby was scheduled to take place.
Instead of tossing the items, 20% of the money made from the items will be donated to two local non-profits.
The items can be purchased online through the Derby Museum's website.
The sale will continue through Sunday, May 3.
