LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — You’ve probably seen the colorful huts filled with books in your neighborhood known as Little Free Libraries. During a time when regular libraries and other entertainment sources are closed, volunteers are asking for help in keeping the little libraries stocked.
”Libraries are such a wonderful resource to get books on different topics, take your children there and interact," volunteer Kari Hanke said. "Because those options are closed now, it’s more important than ever to provide that resource for people in the community."
Hanke is asking people to go through their own collection and donate items to their local Little Free Library. It’s more than books though; you can also donate arts and craft kits, movies and other similar activities.
”Anything that is still usable and is in good condition,” said Hanke. “My criteria would be, would you want to receive it yourself? What kinds of things would you want to see?”
