FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officials at the Floyd County Health Department have announced they have received confirmation of the first positive COVID-19 in Floyd County.
They say the patient is a 22-year-old male who is doing well and in self-isolation at home.
Health officials say they have a team now working to conduct contact tracing for this patient.
At this time, officials at the Health Department believe the risk to the general public is low, but say they will continue to monitor the situation.
They ask the public to stay healthy at home and exercise social distancing when they have to go out.
