(LEX 18) — The price of gas has taken another plunge, now down to around $2.00 a gallon nationally.

According to industry analyst, Trilby Lundburg, gas prices have dropped 14-cents in the past two weeks.

The national average is now $2.01/gallon. If you look back seven weeks, gas prices are down nearly 52-cents per gallon.

The top reason is, of course, the coronavirus.

Stay-at-home orders have wiped out gasoline demand in the U.S.

Lundburg predicts gas prices will continue to fall, with demand not making a rebound any time soon.

According to Gas Buddy, the average price of regular gas in Lexington is about $1.48 per gallon.
