LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — During Gov. Andy Beshear's coronavirus briefing on Wednesday, Gov. Beshear ordered all group fitness classes to halt operations for at least three weeks.

Gyms can still operate on an individual-basis. This only impacts gyms that do classes.

But for local gyms like Sweat, that means they are going to have to close completely. Owner Allison Rohrer says they still haven’t recovered from closing in March, so this will have a huge impact on their business.

“We want to keep the economy going and hang in there and fight until we can't fight anymore, but we got hit," Rohrer said. "Sweat got hit pretty hard. I've been not taking a paycheck and trying to do a skeleton crew and minimize as much as we can to stay alive cause we know this area wants us here.”

They aren’t the only studio that will be closing. Creative Yoga was excited to reopen back in March. Owner Cara Meade says especially during a pandemic her services are needed now more than ever.
