Kentucky's positivity rate continues to decline

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — On Friday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 1,180 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 1,180 new cases of COVID-19 brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 402,926.

The positivity rate in Kentucky continues to decrease. Friday's positivity rate is down to 5.52%.

“I hope all of our Kentucky families have a great, safe weekend,” said Gov. Beshear in a press release. “We’re still not out of the woods with this horrible virus, but every week, we’re taking another step forward in our fight against it.”

Gov. Beshear also announced 30 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 4,600.

As of Friday, 818 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 218 of which are in the ICU and 105 of which are on a ventilator. At least 47,391 Kentuckians have recovered from COVID-19.
