LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton held a news conference Monday morning to give an update on COVID-19.

On Friday, Mayor Gorton announced new measures to stop the spread of the virus, including closing Raven Run, McConnell Springs, public golf courses and city park athletic fields and courts.

Monday, Mayor Gorton announced that now all playgrounds, parking lots connected to parks and restrooms are closed.

Gorton says that parks are open to runners and walkers, but asks that people who come to the park for this do not come in crowds.

Signs are posted of the new rules at area parks.
