Lexington surpasses 24,000 coronavirus cases, 204 reported Monday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington has now surpassed the 24,000 COVID-19 cases mark, the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department announced Tuesday.

The city reached the grim milestone with 204 new cases reported Monday.

Lexington has had 24,132 total cases and 163 deaths since the outbreak began in March.

The health department has made the following suggestions for residents to help stop the spread of coronavirus:

  • Wear a cloth face-covering in public
  • Avoid close contact with others
  • Wash your hands often
  • Stay home if you are sick.
