LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A local coffee shop is continuing to serve customers despite an order from the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department to close.
The coffee shop, Brewed, received the order for continuing to allow indoor dining despite Governor Andy Beshear's latest restrictions that have gone into effect for bars and restaurants.
Kevin Hall, Communications Officer for LFCHD, says while on site for a routine health inspection, officials observed the establishment was still allowing in-person dining.
"The establishment manager was served an enforcement notice requiring that in-person seating be discontinued, which was refused," said Hall. "We then served an enforcement notice to suspend their food permit for not following the executive order guidance."
Despite the order, Brewed is still serving customers as of Tuesday afternoon.

"It's a closure pending further action by the parties or changes to the governor's order," said Hall. "We will continue to reach out to them for compliance while pursuing options for enforcement."
