LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — On Tuesday Gov. Beshear announced that wearing masks would be required by anyone at a Kentucky business starting May 11.
Luckily several local businesses have planned ahead like "Peggy's Gifts and Accessories" and "Shop Local".
Peggy Queen owner of Peggy's says she started ordering cloth masks months ago and hopes there is something for everyone at her shop.
"Comfort is key, that's first," Queen said. "And of course the styles are great. We have camo, and then for men we have solids... we've tried hard to have something people will enjoy wearing, kind of as a fashion accessory."
Peggy says they are getting in shipments weekly, and are available for pre-order online and by calling the store at 859-255-3188.
"Shop Local" is also prepared for the new mask requirements. Owner Rick Paynter says they are getting in thousands of masks a day, and are putting their own unique take on things.
"To be able to take something that for people isn't normal and give them a reason to put a mask on with a funny saying, or something just adds to normalizing it... this isn't something that's strange let's be normal about it and embrace it and continue to flatten the curve," said Paynter.
Their masks are also available online and can be delivered to your door.
