Over 2,000 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Kentucky on Tuesday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Tuesday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 2,120 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 2,120 new cases brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 124,646.

"This is the highest Tuesday and the fifth highest day," Gov. Beshear said. "I feel like we say something like this just about every day now."

Tuesday's positivity rate was 7.68%.

Gov. Beshear also announced 14 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 1,590.

As of Tuesday, 1,189 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 286 of which are in the ICU. At least 23,165 Kentuckians have recovered from COVID-19.
