LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A seventh inmate at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington has died due to coronavirus-related circumstances.

Daniel Morris, 70, tested positive for COVID-19 on May 12 and was immediately placed in isolation. Morris was admitted to a local hospital due to shortness of breath and was released nine days later.

However, Morris was found unresponsive at the FMC on Wednesday and was later pronounced dead.

Morris also had a pre-existing condition which the CDC lists as a risk factor for developing a more severe form of COVID-19.
