LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington group of friends are huge fans of a soccer team in the United Kingdom. To watch the games, the group would get together at Shamrock Bar and Grille. Now, the group, called the Lexington Spurs, are showing their support for the local spot.

The Lexington Spurs watch every Tottenham game at Shamrock Bar and Grille.

"You'll get some that start at 3 p.m. here because it's a night game there, which isn't too bad. But we've had them where they'll open at 7 a.m. for us because it's a noon kick, there," Matt Gordon, a president of the Lexington Spurs, said.

The Lexington Spurs and the Shamrock employees have become family.

"It's been really fun for me, it started about four years ago, with a really small group and then it just gradually got bigger and bigger," Steve Reed, owner of Shamrock Bar and Grille, said.

To give back to the bar that's always welcomed them with open arms, the Lexington Spurs have designed t-shirts to raise money for the staff.

"They've been so good to us, we want to make sure they're still around when the games restart and we're all allowed to hang out and watch sports," Gordon said.

The local restaurant says they're speechless over the community's support.

"It's very heartwarming and humbling. It's something, when we all come together, it really makes a difference. I hope it just stays," Reed said.

The t-shirts are being sold through May 4. Click here to purchase a shirt.
