BEREA, Ky. (LEX 18) — A group of Madison Southern High School students are showing their appreciation for their teachers by surprising them with a gift.
Schools being moved online because of the coronavirus has been tough on everyone.
"Us staying home, us not getting the same stuff that other seniors have gotten, it's not fair but it's also for the better," Madison Southern senior Aspen Glover said. "I think it's going to help a lot."
In the meantime, teachers have had to adjust their routines.
"A lot of us were kind of thrown in to online learning," Madison Southern Family Sciences Teacher Emily Alexander explained. "A lot of us have had very minimal experience with Google Classroom, or platforms like that. We're all having to put on a lot of different hats, not only just the teaching components but also just wanting to check in with out students."
This time, students at Madison Southern are checking in on their teachers by surprising them with a special gift.
"It's popcorn and it's a little note that says we appreciate them, and then there's two types of different seasonings," Glover said.
"I think it's been thought of very negatively, but I think I've learned a lot about myself, and my teachers," Glover added.
