GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Toyota spokesperson has confirmed someone has tested positive for COVID-19 at the Georgetown plant.

The case involves an onsite vendor employee who has not visited the plant since May 14.

Toyota says the employee will remain in self-isolation until a physician clears them.

"The health and safety of our team members, business partners, and community are a top priority," the Toyota spokesperson writes in a statement. "We are working with state and local health officials on this issue and will continue to follow their guidance on all proper protocols."

Toyota employees returned to the Georgetown plant on May 11 after being shut down for several weeks.
