LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — During this anxious time, some nurses at UK HealthCare want to remind themselves of something good in their lives.

Nurses in the emergency department created a gratitude board. Staff can place notes with something they’re thankful for and put them up for everyone to see. People have said they’re grateful for their pets, co-workers and Gov. Andy Beshear. There are even some inside jokes thrown up there.

Nurses say it brings a smile to their day and is a way to come together.

”It kind of grabs you,” Clinical Nurse Expert Jacob Heil said. “It kind of pulls you in to think about what everyone else is thinking about and it puts things into perspective about what we’re worried about and what really matters.”

”We can all get through this stronger together and keep as positive as we can,” Division Charge Nurse Eryn Van Meter said.

People from the community have even sent in their own notes, which nurses added to the board.
