LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The University of Kentucky reported Wednesday that 189 students have now tested positive for COVID-19 since returning to campus.

The results are from a total of 17,285 tests since Aug. 3, for a 1.1% positivity rate. That rate is up from 0.75% since the first round of testing.

Results, including the number of individuals tested, number of positive results and the positivity rate, will be updated daily. Numbers will reflect results for tests conducted three days prior to the day.

The data includes campus testing and does not include testing performed by UK HealthCare.

Between Aug. 3 and Aug. 22, testing (for all students — undergraduate, graduate and professional) will be available at no cost to students at five sites on campus and offered through a third-party expert — Lexington-based testing and genomics company, Wild Health — that has been retained by the university.
