Police: 19-year-old arrested, charged in Summerhill Drive shooting that killed 16-year-old

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — UPDATE: A person has been charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting that took place on Summerhill Drive on May 5.

19-year-old Stewart Watson was charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree in the shooting death of Michael Stinnett.

Watson is currently in custody.

Lexington police are reporting that one person is dead and two people are hurt after a shooting Friday evening.

Around 7:15 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Summerhill Drive in Lexington for reports of shots fired.

Police say they located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived on scene.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Another 19-year-old man was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Fayette County Coroner has identified the victim killed on Summerhill Drive Friday as 16-year-old Michael Ray Stinnett.
