ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Rowan County Coroner says a person is dead after a vehicle crash on westbound I-64 at milemarker 138.
The coroner's office says Morehead police got a call just before 7:00 a.m. Wednesday about a single-vehicle accident. When first responders got to the scene, they found a pickup truck off of the roadway and down an embankment.
A female passenger in the pickup truck died at the scene, according to Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. The male driver of the pickup truck had to be extricated by the Morehead Fire Department. He was transported by Rowan County EMS to the St. Claire HealthCare helipad and was flown to UK Medical Center.
