BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two 14-year-olds in Boone County are facing charges after being accused of threatening to "shoot up" their school.
The Boone County Sheriff's Department said the teens allegedly made threats about Ignite Academy in Erlanger, Kentucky.
Deputies interviewed the students at their homes -- one in Taylor Mill, the other in Hebron.
Officials said one of the students showed a Snapchat post he had sent to other students that had emoji of a gun and dynamite along with the message "Don't come to school tomorrow." The other student allegedly acknowledged making the threat but said he was joking.
Both students were charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and were being held in the Campbell Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
