ROWAN COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18)– The Rowan County Coroner tells LEX 18 that a man drowned after his riding mower fell into a pond.
It happened on Christy Creek Road outside of Elliotville.
An elderly man was mowing his property and apparently lost control and fell or slid into a pond. The man was found in the pond by a family member, according to the coroner.
The man has been identified as 83-year-old John Christy.
The cause of death was drowning. No autopsy will be performed.
