2.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Western Kentucky

LACENTER, KY (WPSD Local 6) — A small earthquake was registered near LaCenter in western Kentucky.

The United States Geological Survey says a 2.3 magnitude earthquake hit the city at 11:31 a.m.  The epicenter of the earthquake was about four miles southeast of LaCenter.

Anything on the 2.0-2.9 scale is considered to be very minor. People often don’t feel these but they are registered on seismographs.

There are over 1,000 of these earthquakes a day across the world.
