VERSAILLES, Ky. (LEX 18) – The choir teacher at Woodford County High School has resigned after allegations of an inappropriate incident.

Cooper Schrimsher submitted a letter of resignation Friday morning. This news comes a little over a week after the school board confirmed that a teacher at the school had been placed on administrative leave.

At that time, Superintendent Scott Hawkins told LEX 18 that the district received a report about a teacher at Woodford County High School and started an internal investigation Thursday.

Hawkins says that all appropriate agencies have been notified and the district is also conducting its own investigation. It was Schrimsher’s third year in the district.

The district did not initially identify the instructor.
