LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A vigil was held in Lincoln County on Saturday to remember the missing and victims of murder.

Those gathered for the event shared stories and celebrated the lives of those they have lost.

Event organizer Sandra Hasty started the vigil to provide support for those left behind.

Her son has been missing for more than three years.

But she says the vigil also provides fellowship.

“Every family can get together and say, ‘I’m not in this alone,'” Hasty said. “And like I said, it’s sad that is how we all had to meet, but this is how we met.”

Hasty adds that family members can join together to put pressure on leaders to seek justice for Kentucky’s murdered and missing.
