WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Monticello man is in jail Sunday morning, after a social worker raised concerns about the safety of his daughter.
A state trooper was called to the home of 42-year-old Alphie Acrey, after the social worker suspected he had broken a plan set in place to prevent abuse.
Authorities say police found Acrey was hiding behind a couch.
The trooper also noticed a large open sore on the daughter’s arm, which he said he later was told had been caused by Acrey striking the girl with a belt.
Acrey was charged with second-degree criminal abuse, second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing and resisting arrest.
He was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center.
