GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — A woman is being treated after being hit early Saturday morning by car in Georgetown.

Authorities say the woman was hit just before 1 a.m. along Cherry Blossom Way.

Police say the woman had left the Pilot truck stop and was trying to run across the street to get back to the hotel where she was staying,

That’s when she was struck by a car traveling around the speed limit of 55 mph.

The impact broke the woman’s leg in several places and she also suffered possible head trauma. However, officials said her injuries were not life-threatening.

The Scott County sheriff says the driver had the green light when the crash occurred.
