LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A family is asking for help finding their lost show dog.
The owner says his whippet, named Lucy, went missing Thursday night while they were in town to compete in the Bluegrass Classic Dog Show.
They say Lucy ran away from the Red Roof Inn on Wilhite Drive.
The family says they’ve desperately been searching for Lucy since then. They said they are offering a reward of $200 for anyone who brings Lucy back to them.
“I brought three other of our whippets down here to kind of use them as decoys to maybe if she sees them she will run towards us instead of running away from someone who tries to catch her,” said owner David Heintzelman. “She won’t probably be caught by anyone except someone she really knows.”
He said if anyone spots Lucy, they should try not to chase her because the dog spooks easily. The family asks anyone who spots the dog to call 314-304-2080.
