4 Die In Fire At WKY Home With No Working Smoke Detectors

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a fire that killed four people in Crittenden County.

It happened around 7 a.m. Sunday morning on Watson Cemetery Road in Salem.

When they arrived, first responders discovered five people were inside the home when the fire started.

According to KSP, witnesses were able to save a 6-year-old from the burning home, but the other four people inside were pronounced dead.

The coroner identified the deceased as Kenneth Belt, 75, Lindsey Dickerson, 26, Waylon Hillard, 32, and Nathan Hillard, 1.

Fire officials later revealed that the home had no working smoke detectors.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but foul play is not suspected. KSP are handling the investigation.
