LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Daniel Seddiqui believes that each state has something culturally unique to offer, so he is travelling to all 50 states and doing something special in each one.

“I decided to go to all 50 states and do something that is culturally unique, just to put myself in people’s shoes to understand perspectives and viewpoints and understand what makes America great,” said Seddiqui.

He is nine days into his tour of the American states and every day marks a new experience in a new state.

So far he has participated in a rodeo in Wyoming, sung in Utah, took part in a gun show in Kansas and hiked in Colorado.

“I’m basically making America my playground right now and just getting out of my bubble, challenging myself, and learning about others and what they do,” he told LEX 18.

For his trip to Kentucky, he decided he needed to saddle up and see what the horse-racing capital had to offer.

He went to a horse farm and decided to take a Thoroughbred out for a stroll.

“It’s fine to walk around the track, but once I get trodding — and what’s the term? — cantering, I feel like I’m going to fly out of the saddle,” he said.

It may be a while until Seddiqui is ready to get back in the saddle, but Wednesday’s experience will last a lifetime.

“I had a great time, a new perspective of the sport, and the culture in Kentucky, but that’s what this project is all about.

Thursday, Seddiqui will be learning to line dance in Nashville, Tennessee.
