LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)–An investigation is underway after a child left an after school program and was found in a partially-drained swimming pool.

It happened Tuesday at Highland Elementary.

Officials say a child climbed over a fence while at the after school program and left the school.

When his parents came to get him, they discovered he wasn’t there.

Police later found him in a partially-drained swimming pool. He was OK.

The superintendent plans to release a statement about the incident Wednesday afternoon.
