MONROE COUNTY, Ky. (WNKY)– A woman is accused of lighting her apartment on fire Monday and then assaulting a police officer.

According to the arrest report obtained by WNKY, witnesses stated 40-year-old Chasity Dawn Stephens set fire to her residence at Columbia Trace Apartment in Tompkinsville, then ran up to her neighbor’s car wearing just a tank top and underwear and told him to give her his keys and took his checkbook.

Police say once located and taken to the department, Stephens grabbed the chief by his genitalia, slipped her hands out of the cuffs and stood up.

The report states Stephens admitted to officers on video that she set fire to her apartment with a cigarette lighter. They believe she was under the influence of drugs.

Stephens is in Barren County Detention Center on a handful of charges including first-degree arson and third-degree assault of a police officer.
