LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Laurel County woman said she was almost the victim of a scam.
The woman, who doesn’t want to be identified, said she got a call from a man claiming to be from Dish Network. He told her that her Dish box was outdated and that she needed to download new software.
She said he knew her account number, but she realized it was a scam when he asked for her to pay for the service immediately.
Dish confirmed it wasn’t them who called her and said they’re looking into it to prevent it from happening again.
