SHELBY COUNTY, Ky.(LEX 18)– The Shelby County Coroner’s Office will hold a press conference to release the identity of human remains found more than a year ago.

Back in January 2017, a resident called police after a dog brought a human skull to his property in Waddy.

More bones were found after crews searched the area using cadaver dogs.

The sheriff said at the time they were found the remains could have been outside for more than a year.

The remains were sent to the University of Tennessee for analysis.

The press conference is set for 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Stratton Community Center in Shelbyville.
