LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (LEX 18) – Workers at the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg are striking due to a dispute over PTO and sick time.

According to the Union President, workers are trying to change the way union members earn their PTO/sick leave.  Workers tell LEX 18 that they stuck with the bourbon industry a few years ago when the industry got lean and now they want the industry to stick with them now that its booming.

“We were laid off for six months at a time, we would work six months and then be laid off. But we gladly stayed. We fought for the company,” one striker told LEX 18.

Workers of the 10D Union say that they’re upset with how contract negotiations are going so far with Four Roses.

Those striking say the company wants to switch to a two-tier system. LEX 18 has reached out to Four Roses for comment.
