Lexington Police Investigate Overnight Shootings

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police were busy overnight as they responded to two shootings within a matter of hours.

Police responded to the first call, which came in shortly after midnight near the intersection of Richmond and Mount Tayor roads.

There, they found a man who had been shot. Police say the shooting actually took place on Griffin Drive.

The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police tell LEX 18 the investigation continues but no suspect or motive was disclosed.

About two hours later, police responded to another shooting near Nicholasville Road and Audubon Avenue.

Witnesses told police they saw a man get out of a silver car and fire a gun several times before driving away.

Police found shell casings but were unable to locate the gunman.

No one was injured in the second shooting.
