WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Tennessee man has died of injuries sustained in a wreck in what police say was an attempt to evade authorities in a stolen off-road vehicle.

The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Scott Crawford of Oneida, Tennessee, died Friday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Police say on Sept. 5 a Williamsburg officer spotted Crawford on a “side-by-side” off-road vehicle that had been reported stolen.

According to police, Crawford sped away but lost control of the vehicle. It flipped several time over an embankment.
