LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Heavy rains overnight kept Lexington police busy as officers responded to one wreck after another.

No major injuries were reported from the crashes late Saturday into early Sunday morning. However, minor injuries resulted hospital visits and at least one driver was sent to jail.

Lexington police say they responded to nearly a dozen car accidents overnight, many between midnight and 2 a.m.

That Included a three-car crash on New Circle at Georgetown Road. Police say one person was taken to the hospital from that crash, but the injuries were not considered life-threatening. One person was arrested in connection with that crash, police say.

In a separate incident, another person was arrested at the scene of an accident outside Double Dogs bar on Justice Drive. A vehicle apparently struck a passenger, who was expected to be OK. Details about the arrest were not immediately disclosed.

Police were warning that continued rains were expected to keep hazardous roadway conditions around for some time.
