LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two brothers are in jail in Laurel County after police say an argument ended in gunfire on Saturday.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says 66-year-old James Casper Cawood and 71-year-old Charles Boyd Cawood were drinking when an argument broke out.

Officials said the elder Cawood went to his truck and began firing a .22-caliber rifle at the house. Police said the younger brother responded by firing a shotgun toward the truck.

Authorities said they found bullet holes in a window and an air conditioner. The truck also was damaged.

Both men were arrested and charged with wanton endangerment.
