CASEY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Casey County Schools are closed Monday due to water issues in the county.
The Board of Education confirms that school was canceled Sunday night after three water line breaks in the area in the past week.
Low water pressure is being reported countywide, and there was a boil water advisory for one area. It has since been lifted, but the school decided to cancel out of an abundance of caution as people in the rural parts of the county are still dealing with issues related to low water pressure.
Casey County School officials say they will not have to make up the date at the end of the year.
